Easy Homemade Rose And Honey Body Lotion Recipe
Apply this gentle rose and honey body lotion regularly to protect your skin and to replace natural oils lost through swimming, bathing, and exposure to the sun. Rose and Honey Body Lotion 1/4 to 1/2 cup fresh or 1 to 2 teaspoons dried rose petals 1 1/4 cups boiling water 1 cup distilled or boiled water 1 teaspoon quince seeds 1/3 cup almond oil 2 teaspoons avocado oil 2 teaspoons wheat germ oil 1 teaspoon honey 5 drops geranium essential oil You will need a medium sized heatproof ceramic or glass bowl, a fine sieve, a cup, a non-reactive saucepan, a stainless steal spoon, a dessert bowl, and a sterilized 8 ounce glass jar with a tight fitting lid. In the bowl, place the rose petals and add the boiling water to make an infusion. Cover and leave for 15 to 20 minutes. Strain the infusion into the cup. In the saucepan, over moderate heat, bring the distilled water and quince seeds slowly to a boil. Simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring to prevent sticking. The mixture will thicken into a gel. Using the back of the spoon, push the gel through the sieve into the dessert bowl. The seeds can be dried and used again. In the saucepan, combine the infusion and the almond, avocado, and wheat germ oils. Warm over low heat; then stir in the honey until combined. Remove from the heat and allow to cool. Add 2 1/2 ounces of the quince gel. Then add the geranium essential oil, 1 drop at a time. Finish by stirring the mixture until smooth. Pour the rose and honey body lotion into the jar. Store in a cool, dark place.
